Check out Google Sync

Google Sync is a new service from google that allows you to sync your gmail contacts with a variety of different sources. Also available is the ability to sync your google calendar.

What makes this really great is that it works on MANY platforms, android(of course), iphone, windows mobile, symbian etc.

Note that tasks and gmail are not yet available for syncing, if you try (tested on symbian) to sync them the entire syncing process fails. so hopfully google will make these available soon.
